The Soul’s Calling is coming from the real you.

In this world, at the beginning of your life, when you were young, you got called all the time. It was loud, as the outer world made its demands on you. Your mother called you in for dinner when you were outside playing. You got calls from your friends to join them. The school bell called you into the classroom after recess. Everyone was calling you to do something and you responded.

Then, the world you came from presented you with a different kind of calling. As you got older, into your teens and early adulthood you started to feel another type of calling – a soul calling. A calling for you to do something important with your life. This calling came from within you and was not loud. It spoke to you at a soul level. It was a feeling that you most likely kept to yourself.

What is it that had your attention growing up?

Did you want to be a doctor, or a teacher, or an artist? What was it that called to you incisively and garnered your full attention? What happened to that pull, that urge, that calling? Did you follow it or did pressure from society or family cause you to abandon that calling? Do you regret it now?

People say, “if I had it to do over again, I’d do it differently.”

That’s a sign that their soul’s calling is still alive inside them. What would they do differently? Would they have second thoughts about doing it now, or feel that it was something that they couldn’t accomplish this late in life?

People reach a crisis point in their lives when they feel they’re running out of time to make a difference in the world … to do what matters.

We see something else. We see people who want to change the world but don’t want to change themselves. This calling from your soul is about changing yourself first. It’s learning to function in a way that focuses not solely on your betterment but on what you have to offer others. You may not be able to change the world, but you can certainly change yourself and in doing so change the outcome of your life and the lives of others.

CALL TO ACTION: Start your Self-Examination

What is it you wanted to be when you grew up?
Did you follow that calling? What was it?
If not, it’s not too late. You were put here at this time in history to fulfill your soul’s calling, so follow that urge within you without hesitation and you will get there.

HOW IT WORKS: Your soul’s calling is bigger than just you. It leads you to your purpose. No matter how much you attempt to avoid it – it will never cease. Your calling is derived from an urge deep within your soul that reminds you who you are and why you are here.

From the beginning of my life, I was presented with my soul’s calling. It was shocking. It showed me a world to come and my part in it. That was very sobering, causing me to be observant without being obvious. From this perspective, I mastered living in two worlds, this one and the one I came from. It felt like keeping the biggest secret you can imagine. I was knowing more than anyone here in this world would ever allow had they known what I was doing – not that I was doing anything wrong. Knowing this, I learned to harness what feels like living a “double life” throughout my life.

To summarize, I can only say that the soul’s calling is much bigger and more important than anything you have in mind. It has always produced much better outcomes than anything I had in mind … not that it’s been easy. So, from my experience, following your soul’s calling is not a choice. You will remember this the moment you are released from this world but hopefully, you won’t wait that long. ~ Linda Deir
